Selvyn Cuttignane from the Collège du St Esprit and Divyesh Nath Ramsaha from the Mahatma Gandhi Institute are, respectively, the 2024 and 2025 MCB Foundation scholarship recpients. The two laureates, aged 20 and 19, shone during the 2023 and 2024 HSC exams , and were ranked 4th in the economics side. They are the 35th and 36th recipients of the MCB Foundation Scholarship, a university scholarship established in 1988, in commemoration of MCB’s150th anniversary. The official ceremony took place on Thursday, 21 August MCB Centre, Port-Louis, in the presence of the Minister of Education, Dr. Mahend Gungapersad.
Selvyn Cuttignane has distinguished himself by his active engagement in extracurricular activities, notably by participating in the Model United Nations Conference and quiz competitions. He was a dynamic member of the finance and ecology clubs of the Collège du St Esprit. A responsible and disciplined student, he has been practicing Taekwondo for four years and currently holds a red belt, which testifies to his perseverance and rigor.
Divyesh Nath Ramsaha also shone through his active engagement in various extracurricular activities, such as the Model United Nations conference, the Austrian mathematics competition between 2017 and 2019, as well as the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Essay writing competition. He was also a member of the badminton club.
