Prakash Dussoye: The Journey of a Caddie Master turned Golf Operations Supervisor

As Constance Golf Legend course gears up for the MCB Tour Championship (between 28th of March and the 3rd of April 2022), the final step of the Legends Tour, other events are taking shape behind the scenes. Prakash Dussoye, 37, was promoted to Golf Operations Supervisor earlier this year. Just 20 years ago, Prakash had begun his career with the hotel group as a part-time caddie, while still at school.

Golf was a whole new world for this young man. He learnt all about it on the job and was soon playing a winning shot. By 2014, Prakash was a Caddie Master. And in 2015, he represented the Constance employees at the MCB Pro-Am. Today, Prakash is in charge of a team of ten.

Receptionists, starters, marshal on course and backroom attendants rely on his directions for the everyday running of the clubhouse. Prakash also handles guest bookings through emails and “moves heaven and earth to make sure their experience is a pleasant one”. With this year’s MCB Tour Championship just weeks away, the pace is picking up. But Prakash remains poised. Of the eleven editions of this tournament, he has been around for eight of them. He knows the drill well and even has a few tricks up his sleeve.

His setup: order equipment (balls, towels, water) and have the carts ready. Closer to the big day: prepare the draw sheets and scorecards. Which two players will face each other? At what time? Everything is recorded here! On the tee off day: Prakash is on dawn patrol on the course as from 5.30 am. He is on the lookout for correctly positioned tee markers and a perfect carpet.

Over the course of his career, Prakash has teed off with golfing legends “Barry Lane, David Frost, Sam Torrance… I’ve played with some of the greats. They gave me tips on how to improve my swing.” This isn’t just a job. This is passion. And Prakash Dussoye lives it every day.
