MCB donates Rs.2.3 million to Chrysalide

This year’s support of MCB to Chrysalide amounts to Rs.2.3 million. This sum includes a contribution of Rs.160, 000 gained during the MCB Ladies Trophy, where Rs.1,000 was paid by every player; an amount which was more than doubled by MCB. The second edition of this golf tournament took place on 11th May 2018 at Avalon Golf Estate.

From chrysalis to butterfly
Chrysalide, located in Bamboo, fights against addiction. This rehabilitation centre helps women who have suffered from alcohol or drug addiction, former prisoners, sex workers or those affected by HIV. Besides rehabilitation, Chrysalide accompanies its members in their progress towards reinstatement in society.

Marlène Ladine, director of Chrysalide: "Last year’s meeting was a rich experience. It was the opportunity for me to speak about a Mauritian reality which is still underestimated, that is, women’s addictions and their consequences. This year, thanks to our collaboration with MCB, we plan to promote other aspects which are important to Chrysalide, among which, the reintegration of its members in active life and security aspects in and around the centre situated in Bamboo".

Raoul Gufflet, Deputy Chief Executive - MCB Ltd: "Chrysalide is a school of life. This association helps women who wish a new start in life and thus aims at better days. Through its support for this NGO, MCB hopes that these women will better manage their personal battles whether for their families or themselves."

MCB Ladies Trophy 2018: D’Arifat and Espiralier-Noël distinguish themselves
The MCB Ladies Trophy took place at Avalon Golf Estate with 60 players. Béatrice d'Arifat was the best player in the "Gross" category, while Hélène Espitalier-Noël reached first place in the “Net” category. Both winners won their tickets for the participation in Constance Pro-Am which will take place on 5th and 6th December, during the MCB Tour Championship.
