Beyond Numbers Graduate Programme

We are currently looking for talented and inspired graduates to join us, through our Beyond Numbers Graduate Programme. This is for you if:

• • You are interested in the Corporate and Risk sectors
• • You have a Bachelor’s degree (minimum 2:1)
• • You have less than two years’ work experience
• • You want to build the knowledge to succeed at MCB
• • You are prepared for a 24-month rotation period in our analytics-focused business units

The Beyond Numbers Graduate Programme offers a unique and structured opportunity to degree holders to grow within MCB. If you join the programme, you will take part in an exciting and personalised onboarding, where you will meet people from across the bank and gain in-depth understanding of what we do and how we do it. You will then complete rotations in the following analytics-focused business areas:

• • CIB Middle Office
• • Credit Management
• • Financial Risk, and
• • Credit Analysis & Structuring

Along the way, you will develop a range of skills while building on the ones that set you apart from the competition. Our programme will also help you build a network, give you exposure to senior leaders, fellow graduates and a diverse range of clients, and help you find the best fit for you.

How do I submit my application?

All applications should be submitted online. We do not process applications received in any other format.

I am not a recent graduate and have some years’ of work experience. Can I still apply?

Yes, however, we will consider applications from graduates with a maximum of 2 years of work experience.

I don’t live in Mauritius. Can I still apply for the programme?

You may apply for the programme from anywhere in the world, as long as you are of Mauritian nationality.

Is there an upper age limit for applications?

Although we welcome applications from all age groups, people who are still at an early stage of their career stand a better chance to benefit from the development and purpose of such programmes.

What happens at the end of the programme?

Your performance will be reviewed after having successfully completed your 24 months’ programme and you will be assigned in a permanent position in analytics-focused business areas such as: CIB Middle Office, Credit Management, Financial Risk, and Credit Analysis & Structuring team.

How many vacancies are there?

We are looking for 12 exceptional candidates for the CIB and Risk SBUs.

Does it matter if I do not have a finance and/or banking background? Do I need to have a Master’s Degree?

You are eligible to apply if:

• • You are of Mauritian nationality
• • You are not currently employed at MCB or any company within MCB Group
• • You have a bachelor degree with a maximum of 2 years’ experience

Can I re-apply if I previously applied for a job at MCB?

You can apply and you will go through the same selection and application process as other candidates.

How do you decide if a candidate is right for the scheme or not?

You will undergo a number of competency-based assessments as well as interviews to determine your qualities and skills. The process has been designed to make sure that we recruit the right people.

Do I need to pay for the exam and tuition fees?

No, you will be fully sponsored as part of the programme. This includes registration fees, learning materials and exam fees.

Can I apply if I have already completed some modules of the ACA or ACCA qualification?

Yes, you can apply to be part of the programme as long as you meet the minimum criteria.
